Julio Figueroa Beltran attended San Alejandro Fine Arts Academy in Havana from 1999 to 2003, and then went on to study at the Superior Institute of Art (ISA) from 2004 to 2007.

His work embraces many genres and mediums, with a focus on painting but also including installations employing car parts and found objects. Through his research of different conceptual and stylistic influences, Figueroa draws from a broad range of subjects, exploring the general theme of man’s relationship with his environment.

He characterizes the nature of painting as being a never ending web of representation. Figueroa embraces and constructs a pictorial universe with a daring use of unexpected juxtaposition of objects, colors and textures, conveying a minimalist composition with the subtle use of suggestion and metaphor.

Currently lives and works in Miami, Florida.
