Melissa Mason, originally from Western Maryland, now calls Central Florida her home. It is there where she paints with fellow artists in the renovated horse paddock on her farm. Upon entering the place she calls home/studio you feel a pulsating energy that is ever-present in her work.

Melissa’s art started as a life-long dream but did not come to fruition until she had a life changing moment. That, combined with a private art coach and countless hours of painting allowed her to develop her style for which she is now known. Melissa’s big gestural movements, with large painting implements and copious amounts of paint, bring her canvases to life. The combination of intellect and intuition inform and guide the art resulting in strong, powerful paintings with an intriguing surface quality.

Her work is published in a book of Florida Artists, and has been selected for the cover art for HITS and Orlando Arts Magazine. Her paintings can be found in the collection of museums, corporations, hospitality, and private collectors.
